      FORUM MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE

Management and maintenance of the Renaissance Kingdoms forums is handled by numerous people at various levels. They work together and with you to help make your experience and role play here as enjoyable and special as you want it to be. With the exception of the Game Administrators all are volunteers. The moderator(s) of each forum are listed just below the forum name.

Group Moderators – These volunteers are players who, in character, are in charge of a specific forum or forums.

Who: Typically a Group Moderator is someone elected to the position such as a mayor or Duke. A Group Moderator may also be the head of a private forum or a Family. Any forum may have, at most, two Group Moderators.

Duties: Group Moderators are responsible for making sure that the users of their forum follow the forum rules. Group Moderators may edit, move, lock, combine, or split threads as they see fit. Group Moderators can have a significant effect on forum roleplay and must be careful to encourage and not hamper roleplay in their areas of responsibility. Group Moderators and players with questions or concerns about them should contact Forum Administrators.

Forum Moderators (aka Critters) – These volunteers, formerly known as forum censors, aid in the global care and management of the forums. Forum Moderators are out of character at all times.

Who: Forum Moderators are selected from individuals who have shown themselves to be helpful, responsible, and well spoken in the forum roleplay and out of character areas. To allow them to operate independently of their roleplay characters, Forum Moderators use “masks” in the form of animals. Forum Moderators are organized, as much as is possible, by county, and are assigned to oversee areas that their roleplay characters do not frequent.

Duties: Forum Moderators are typically responsible for numerous forums and are there to answer questions, aid players in thread and roleplay maintenance (edit, move, lock, combine, or split threads), and to step in if a problem with understanding or following forum rules of conduct arises. While a Forum Moderator may occasionally be forced to ban a player for unacceptable behavior, early intervention, behind-the-scenes discussion with players and help in calming down difficult interactions are used to help prevent that necessity. Forum Moderators and players with questions or concerns about them should contact the local area Head Forum Moderator.

Head Forum Moderator (aka Head Critters) – These volunteers, formerly known as head censors, oversee and coordinate groups of Forum Moderators. Most of their duties are the same as those of Forum Moderators, with the exceptions described below.

Who: Head Forum Moderators are selected from Forum Moderators who, over time, have distinguished themselves in the characteristics of leadership and organization.

Duties: In addition to aiding and educating the Player Characters, Head Forum Moderators are actively engaged in the training of new Forum Moderators. They coordinate and oversee the activities of the Forum Moderators in their charge. Head Forum Moderators also work with each other to ensure consistency application of the forum and game rules across the forums. Head Forum Moderators are organized, as much as is possible, by country, and are assigned to oversee areas that their roleplay characters do not frequent. Head Forum Moderators and players with questions or concerns about them should contact a Forum Administrator.

Forum Administrator (aka Forum Administrators, aka Critter Coordinators, aka Lion Tamers) – These volunteers oversee the entire forum structure and are responsible for the overall functioning and maintenance of the forums.

Who: Forum Administrators are selected by Game Administrators (the owners of Renaissance Kingdoms). Typically they are former Head Forum Moderators who have distinguished themselves.

Duties: Forum Administrators are responsible for maintaining the overall structure of the forums. This includes building new forum areas, maintaining player access and moderation rights, cleaning up the forums, looking into connection and use issues, commissioning and organizing Forum Moderators and Head Moderators and solving or answering any other issues or concerns that occur. Forum Administrators oversee, work with, and advise the Forum and Head Forum Moderators, but do not act to influence disciplinary decisions except in very unusual circumstances. Forum Administrators serve as a disciplinary appeal panel and act to initiate bans on request of the Head Forum Moderators. Forum Administrators and players with questions or concerns about them should contact the Game Administrators via the in game FAQ/Contact tool. Game Administrator – These are paid positions.

Who: The owners or direct employees of Renaissance Kingdoms (Celsius)

Duties: Game Administrators oversee the programming and operation of Renaissance Kingdoms. They are not involved in the operation of roleplay forums except in an abstract sense. Any questions to them should involve in game issues only. Game Administrators can only be reached via the link found in the game under FAQ/Contact, or here: http://faq.renaissancekingdoms.com/index.php?mode=contact
